Preschool Director

*About us* Stephens City United Methodist Preschool opened its doors in 1984.
The Preschool is a ministry of Stephens City United Methodist Church.
We offer classes for three year-old and four year-old children.
We are looking for a qualified Preschool Director to organize and run the day-to-day operations of the Preschool.
The Preschool Director would be the liaison between the Preschool staff and the Preschool Committee Board Members.
*Hiring timeline* We are looking for this position to start at the end of May.
The ideal candidate would be available to shadow our current director, during the last few weeks of May.
School year (August-May) Hours 8:30-2:30 Monday-Friday.
Summer Hours (June and July) Flex time, around 5 hours per week.
*Responsibilities* * Run the day-to-day supervision and regular evaluations of all Preschool teachers and aides.
* Organize day-to-day schedules for students and teachers (playground time, lunch time, special activities, etc.
) * Schedule field trips, special events, and activities with time for the staff to plan and provide lessons before the event.
* Assist teachers with student discipline and accidents when needed.
* Organize the Preschool registration of prospective students for current and upcoming school years.
* Track children’s progress and report to parents * Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children’s background.
* Collaborate with other educators.
* Maintain a loving and caring Preschool program.
*Skills* * Proven experience as a Preschool Teacher and Leadership capabilities Director background preferred.
* Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods * Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms * Excellent communication and instructional skills * Ability to act as mediator between children and staff members * Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable * Balance between a creative mind and a practical acumen * Certification in child CPR * BSc/BA in education or relevant field or preschool teacher certification Job Type: Part-time Pay: $18.
00 - $20.
