Middle School Instructional Coach - 2024-2025

The instructional coach provides job-embedded and ongoing professional reflection and learning for teachers to enhance their content knowledge and instructional strategies.
The coach provides support to principals and teachers to analyze student work and data and plan formative professional development.
The effective coach is seen as an equal partner with both novice and experienced teachers, spending the majority of the time working in classrooms (i.
e.
modeling, observing, co-teaching, debriefing).
Coaches will review, revise, and update pacing guides and assist teachers in the development and use of common assessments.
Overall, the job of Instructional Coach is to build the capacity of school staffs to meet the learning needs of all students through the professional learning community model.
Qualifications/Education/Experience: A minimum of five years of exemplary teaching experience at the secondary level.
Experience working with a diverse population including children with disabilities, students with limited English proficiency and students who live in poverty.
Knowledge of research-based and differentiated literacy strategies.
Knowledge of effective instructional delivery techniques, research-based best practices, and adult learning theory.
Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a collaborative-shared leadership environment.
Emotionally mature, objective and sensitive to people and their concerns.
Able to handle responsibility, work independently and maintain collaborative working relationships with administration and co-workers.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Valid Virginia Teaching License with Middle or Secondary endorsement Master's Degree preferred Salary: Range based on the 2023-2024 Teacher Salary Scale is $51,000 - $75,887 per year with an additional stipend for degree and pay for 10 extra days.
The salary may be adjusted based on the 2024-2025 budget.
Workday: Full time / 10 month/ 210 Day Contract Location: Daniel Morgan Middle School Position Start: 2024-2025 school year
