St.
Mary School (Hagerstown MD) is seeking a PreK through 8th Grade Art teacher.
The art teacher's responsibilities include sourcing art supplies, preparing lessons, and providing developmentally appropriate instruction on art techniques.
She/he should also be able to supervise lessons to ensure that learners interact in a supportive and respectful manner.
The teacher would need to be comfortable with technology integration utilizing Chromebook and G-Suite applications
Essential Functions
Provide grade appropriate instructional program for students in grades PreK-8 in the field of visual arts.
Maintains an attractive, organized, and engaging learning environment.
Develops lesson plans with clear objectives in line with the Archdiocesan Course of Study.
Uses relevant technology to support/enhance instruction.
Maintains appropriate classroom management through positive behavioral interventions and supports.
Maintains accurate and complete records of students' progress in Power School.
Provides regular and consistent communication with parents, students, staff and administration.
Performs assigned duties when needed for the supervision of students before, during or after school including lunch duties, recess duties, dismissal duties, and any other duties assigned by the administration.
Participates in faculty meetings, school committees, and in-service learning opportunities.
Position Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in education or higher
Current MSDE certification or able to obtain certification within two years
Prior successful teaching experience grade level education
Knowledge of the Catholic faith preferred but not required.
Must be comfortable with technology to include GSuite, Google Classroom, Interactive projectors, etc.
