The staff member in this position is responsible for providing direct and indirect client care activities under the supervision of a Physician, Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurse, or Licensed Practical Nurse.
The Medical Assistant gathers vital signs, including measurement of blood pressure, respirations, and pulse; conducts medication reconciliations; collects/verifies information regarding allergies, tobacco, and alcohol use; documents interactions with clients; conducts prescription pre-authorizations; and aids providers and nursing staff members as needed.
The Medical Assistant should be familiar with mental health concepts, practices, and procedures.
The Medical Assistant should have experience with, or be willing to learn, electronic health records.

*QUALIFICATIONS:*
* High School Diploma or equivalent required
* Certification from an accredited clinical medical assistant program (or 1 year of relevant experience) required
* Psychiatric and EHR experience preferred
* Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate or eligibility required
* Must possess a valid Driver’s License, good driving record, and the ability to provide own transportation
* May be exposed to allergenic environments from client’s homes, including extreme heat, humidity, dust, smoke, pet contamination, cleaning supplies, etc.
* May be exposed to clients with infectious diseases
* Must be able to drive for long periods of time to visit clients in and out of the catchment area as needed
* Must be able to walk distances, climb and descend stairs, maneuver in and out of agency vehicles
* Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
* Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 25 pounds at times
*SALARY:* $37,424.
