Selling my Randall Warhead X2.
Not many of these were made, so they're difficult to find these days.
Awesome 300w Dimebag Darrell signature amp.
I'm reluctant to sell, but I've had my time with it and have some home projects I'd like to knock out sooner rather than later, so I figure it's time to offer it up for someone else to enjoy.
Somewhere in its life, the headshell and the metal X2 faceplate were swapped in favor of a Marshall shell/handle along with a .
.
.
psychedelic space zebra faceplate? Idk what it is, but it looks pretty groovy & the amp rips.
2 channels - Clean and Distortion - with the Distortion channel having two modes: Overdrive and Fry.
Pretty much the Overdrive is the regular distortion & then Fry has a bit more hair & functions as a lead channel.
Does not come with the footswitch, as it didn't come with one when I bought it, but the channels and loop can be controlled via a midi footswitch.
Made & uploaded a quick cell video of it (https://www.
youtube.
com/watch?v=JXrT6aiTOBQ) so you can see/hear it in action.
I went straight into the amp & just quick-dialed it for a tone I liked.
They have the green settings indicators for Dime tones, but I recommend putting an OD in front, an EQ in the loop & using your ear to zero those in.
The original amp also came with a warning label on the front about maxing out the gain on the Fry channel - it's also mentioned in the Owner's Manual (can't post external link to manual on Reverb, but I can email you the manual in pdf if you buy, or if you google the manual it should pop up via the randall site): "Warning: The Fry channel was designed with extreme high gain.
Do not run this channel with the Gain knob on full.
Recommended Gain setting is 6-7" Please make note of this! As counterintuitive as it might seem for a Dime sig amp, you don't want to dime the gain out on the Fry channel, as I've read it can cause the amp to behave weird, and potentially damage it.
Seems crazy to make it like that, especially given the target market of this amp, but that's how they built it.
Amp works great & I kept it between the lines as per the manual's suggestion, so if you ignore the warning and damage it, unfortunately, that's gonna be 100% on you.
Plenty of gain on tap without going crazy with it on the Fry channel though.
This listing is for local pickup/cash only.
Listed on reverb if you want it shipped (w/higher price to account for shipping/fees/taxes, so it's much cheaper to pick it up!).
Feel free to message me with any questions on the amp.
Only considering selling to help fund the home projects I mentioned, so I'm not interested in trades, etc.
