The Utilities Project Manager acts as a liaison for CHP and subcontractors managing the day-to-day operations associated with the successful implementation of utility-funded energy efficiency projects in single-family and multifamily homes.
Core responsibilities include conducting on-site inspections and quality control visits for proper installation, creating work and change orders, and maintaining project files for timely and accurate reporting.
This position requires strong project management and analytical skills, with the ability to travel locally and out-of-town throughout the CHP Energy Solution’s footprint of job sites.
Working hours may vary, but customary hours are Monday Friday from 8:00 AM 5:00 PM with one-hour lunch break, with occasional evening hours and 0vernight travel required.
Regular attendance and punctuality are required.
This position may have the flexibility to work remotely with approval from the supervisor and in accordance with business needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Liaising with subcontractors, manage the day-to-day tasks associated with the successful implementation of utility-funded energy efficiency projects in single-family and multifamily households.
Create work orders, change orders, and other necessary documentation for projects’ successful deliveries.
Maintain project files in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
Prepare timely and accurate reporting to all internal and external stakeholders, including Energy Solutions staff, CHP leadership, and program sponsors and administrators.
Perform desk review and on-site quality control visits to ensure proper installation of energy conservation measures.
Continually update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
Travel throughout CHP Energy Solution’s footprint to various jobsites to include both daily and occasional overnight travel.
Able to lead multiple projects simultaneously Support the development of strategic partnerships with CHP’s partners, weatherization agencies, subcontractors, outreach partners, and relevant stakeholders to expand CHP Energy Solutions’ network and project portfolio.
Must obtain BPI-HEP-Energy Auditor and Quality Control Inspector certifications within 18 months of employment.
Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor or senior department members.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to communicate professionally and courteously with employees at all levels of the organization, vendors, owners, inspectors, government officials, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, manage time efficiently, and schedule many different areas of a project to ensure quality completion, on-time and within budget.
Must possess excellent judgment, a high level of interpersonal skills, and ability to handle sensitive or confidential information with a high degree of professional discretion.
Ability to set goals and work in a self-directed manner to meet workload and project deadlines.
Proficient in a variety of computer software applications for word processing, spreadsheets, data management, and presentation (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
Must possess accurate and precise attention to detail, with the ability to verify work performed by contractors/subcontractors for completeness, quality, and workmanship.
Maintain a valid driver’s license and driving record consistent with current CHP insurability guidelines.
Must have the ability to travel throughout CHP Energy Solution’s footprint to various jobsites to include both daily and occasional overnight travel.
Education and/or Experience High school diploma or GED required.
Two to four-year degree from an accredited college/university in construction, Energy, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
2-5 years’ experience project management and/or management experience, required.
Must obtain BPI-HEP-Energy Auditor and Quality Control Inspector certifications within 18 months of employment.
Knowledge of building construction basics and industry codes and standards preferred.
Knowledge of HUD, DOE, utilities, and other available energy programs preferred.
Building Science or Industry related certifications or trainings such as BPI, NABCEP, preferred.
