Position Purpose : Responsible for implementing and maintaining highly specialized DNA cell sorting procedures and laboratory equipment for bovine embryo transfer organization.
Specific duties will be to: (1) install, operate, and maintain complex sperm sorting equipment; (3) optimize performance of the flow cytometer laser, including testing and alignment; (4) determine drop delay before start of production; (5) provide technical support for sorting procedures; (6) prepare samples for sorting; (7) analyze and establish purity of sorted samples; and (8) support engineering research and development on procedures and laboratory equipment needed for projects related to animal reproduction.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical support for existing instruments to repair and maintain in operation by phone calls, video calls or travel to different centers, including but not limited, in software, hardware, mechanical, electronics and lasers.
Participate in SSL lab monthly meetings to stay current on team needs, regional updates.
Function as an SSL Technician in roles associated with the production and evaluation of sexed semen.
This will ensure a continued understanding of SSL team needs.
Equip trained and in-training team members with the resources, scientific knowledge, and up-to-date equipment necessary for them to perform with excellence.
Provide outstanding support to team members so that they will learn from example and support clients with excellence.
Ensure continued learning and improvement of team productivity and efficiency.
Provide for and support communication opportunities for team members across regions.
Represent Trans Ova Genetics at external functions including CE meetings.
Communicate openly and honestly with team members and supervisor.
Follow Trans Ova’s policies and procedures and supports its core values.
Maintain a professional image reflective of Trans Ova’s brand and industry position.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education Requirements:
Minimum B.
S.
in Mechanic - Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
Requires 50% travel to company locations around the nation and must be open to international travel.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Ability to sit for long periods of time.

Understanding of quality & manufacturing procedures
Knowledge on SolidWorks
Basic knowledge of 3D printing
Basic knowledge of software language C and updates

Basic knowledge of CNC programs
>2 years of previous experience performing SSL lab procedures is a plus but not required.
