Job Description:
Job Summary: This engineering role is 'Assistance To Operations' (ATO) in a liquid filling and packaging industrial environment with automated controls.
This ATO Engineer will be the subject matter expert on the filling equipment and support the area operators to keep the equipment operating.
The role also includes maintaining area technical and management of change documentation.
The ATO engineer is responsible for process monitoring and improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Identification and evaluation of process improvements or changes needed as a result of growth in volume and/or new technologies.
Support of front-end loading (development of scopes of work and basic engineering) and startup tasks for capital projects.
Interact with internal and external technical groups (Maintenance, Engineering, R&D, Product Group, etc.
) in order to accomplish Axalta Coating Systems business and site COTs (Critical Operating Tasks).
Use engineering knowledge of processes, material and/or equipment to provide necessary technical expertise to the manufacturing operation in order to maintain and improve production performance and to restore process capability when the product or standard process is no longer safe, stable, and predictable or in control.
Improve equipment and process performance by implementing modifications ranging from incremental daily improvement to technology game changers.
Use analytical skills to help in troubleshooting process, equipment or instrumentation and control system issues, and work on the resolution of them.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial) or similar discipline.
1 year of Manufacturing work experience preferred.
Experience in chemical manufacturing process preferred.
Able to identify opportunities to improve manufacturing costs, quality, speed and drive them to implementation.
Knowledge and experience in process control including knowledge of a programming language.
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and reconcile diverse viewpoints within teams and between teams.
Excellent computer application skills with working knowledge of MS office (Excel, Word and Power Point).
Experience with process improvement work both on conceptualization and implementation.
