Position Snapshot: The Production Laborer is responsible for various types of preliminary set-ups for the pouring and finishing of concrete products.
They will smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete and make repairs to finished concrete products using a variety of hand and power tools.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
• Perform a variety of tasks associated with the manufacture of concrete products involving strenuous manual labor.
• Patch finished concrete products.
• Must have the ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Maintain a clean job site, pick up all tools and equipment and secure the job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards.
• Material handling and storage.
• Adhere to Safety and Housekeeping policies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Some knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in concrete finishing.
• Knowledge of applicable safety precautions.
• Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
• Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous labor.
• Ability to communicate verbally.
• Ability to use equipment and tolls properly.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
• May be required to operate a forklift; must prove training/certification or be willing to receive training for eventual certification.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform required work.
• Willingness and ability to perform manual work following verbal and written instructions.
Requirements:
• Must reside in the continental U.
S.
within the assigned region (Harrisonburg, VA area).
No relocation assistance is provided.
• Must have a valid driving license.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.
S.
for any employer.
Typical Schedule: Work is generally performed Monday-Friday, 40+ hours per week depending on workload and production demands.
Overtime and weekend work may be required during heavy production periods.
Typical Physical Demands: Physical agility and may require any or all of the following: standing, sitting, walking, climbing, reaching, bending/stooping, lifting (50lbs.
max), pushing/pulling (50lbs.
max); finger grasp, power grasp, wrist twist, balance; all may occur over an eight-hour period.
Working Conditions: Work is performed in a production environment, with ambient weather/air conditions, loud noise, dangerous equipment, and variable lighting.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in all production areas.
Compensation: Based on skills, knowledge, and experience.
