Overview
We are a dynamic manufacturing company looking for an enthusiastic Maintenance Technician who brings both foundational knowledge of PLC systems and strong mechanical skills to our team.

The successful candidate will have a practical understanding of PLC basics, combined with strong mechanical proficiency, to support our maintenance and operations team.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance on manufacturing equipment, focusing on mechanical systems and basic PLC troubleshooting.
- Assist with the installation, programming, and repair of PLC-controlled machinery.
- Conduct mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance to avoid production downtimes.
- Collaborate with the management team to identify and implement improvements in machine efficiency.
- Develop maintenance strategies and procedures to enhance machine reliability and performance.
- Participate in training sessions to upgrade skills and knowledge, including advanced PLC programming and mechanical systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
- Participates and takes an active role in the preventive maintenance program.
PM duties to include but not limited to: cleaning and lubricating shafts and bearings, cleaning radiators, oil/lubricant changes, belt changes, and filter changes.
- Inspects and detects malfunctions in machinery and equipment using testing equipment and visual and audible indicators.
- Trouble shoots, repairs, and rebuilds defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts using hand and power tools.
- Discusses machine operation variations with operators, supervisors, and other maintenance workers to diagnose problems and/or repair machines.
- Installs and maintains pipe and hose systems related to: gel coat, chop, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
Inclusive, but not limited to, repairing and replacing: gauges, valves, pressure regulators, quick disconnects, and related equipment.
- Installs and maintains compressed air and water piping and related equipment (e.
g.
quick disconnects and commodes).
- Operates cutting torches and welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
(preferred prior experience)
- Repairs, maintains, and constructs physical structures related to the facility.
Inclusive but not limited to: painting, woodwork, tile, sheetrock, and ceiling tiles.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems individually or as part of a team.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a maintenance role, with exposure to PLC systems and strong mechanical repair skills.
- Basic understanding of PLC programming and troubleshooting.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues on various types of machinery and equipment.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Willingness to work in shifts and be on call for emergencies when necessary.
- Strong emphasis on safety / safe work practices
- Knowledge of lubrication techniques
- Basic knowledge of electrical principles
- Ability to attain a tow motor license

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Frequently exposed to mechanical and electrical parts/equipment
- Occasionally exposed to: wet/humid conditions, precarious places, fumes and airborne particles, chemicals, outside weather conditions, and vibration.
- Frequently required to: stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and using hands to finger, handle, and feel.
