Wisetek USA currently has a requirement for an Electrical (Power Systems) Engineer, as part of the Operations Engineering Team, based out of our Winchester, VA site.
Overview
Primary responsibilities include providing Engineering support for Operations Testing of hardware and electrical products – new Manufacturing material and Refurb (ITAD) material.
This will include support for day-to-day operations as well as project work on development of improved tools and processes, for current and new hardware.
The successful candidate should provide hands-on technical operational support in a professional and friendly manner.
The role will support activities across several Wisetek sites so some travel will be required.
The Wisetek Winchester, VA site supports our ITAD – IT Asset Disposition, involving the sanitization and refurb of used office and data-center hardware so that it can be reused where possible and responsibly recycled otherwise.
Duties include but not limited to the following (Training will be provided for specific tasks);
Be one of the go-to people for technical queries on hardware Testing
Develop and support test methods for testing new and refurbished hardware, including standby power supplies
Be a key point of support for the Operations teams on all technical issues.
Communicate actively across all site teams, creating and updating process flows and work instructions as required.
Identify and support continuous improvement and innovation activity – opportunities to enhance or transform our testing activities.
Responsibilities
Communicate the test results across multiple engineering teams
Design and implement production methods, processes and flows that optimize the effective and efficient use of resources to meet demand profiles.
Review production information to understand how to optimize methods and activities in manufacturing and services.
Design and implement planning and control systems to minimize and resolve production issues and project costs and sustain low variation processes with minimal waste.
Assure that data collection and information management systems work properly and are suitable to the needs of the organization.
Troubleshoot problems, perform Root Cause Analysis
Create systems and plan production to ensure all products meet quality control standards.
Partner with quality and compliance to ensure continuity
Develop standards for production and design including standard work times.
Understands key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work
Drive a continuous improvement culture.
Education and Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline, preferably, Electrical, Systems, Controls.
Ability to perform various tests such as Hi Pot, Ground Bond, DC to DC Load, and Charger test
Knowledge of reading/developing electrical schematics and circuit analysis
Develop, build and maintain battery-cell testing hardware
Knowledge of safe laboratory and production procedures when handling lithium-ion cells and experience in lithium-ion battery testing
Experience with electronic component failure analysis and electrical test equipment
Experience in the analysis of microcircuits, active & passive electrical components
Ability to design and understand precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.
Experience with Microsoft Navision desirable.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing processes, tools and techniques is a plus
Excellent verbal, written and analytical skills
