Description
Performs responsible skilled work in the operation of motorized equipment.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Work is performed under regular supervision of the Sanitary District Manager or his/her designee.

Operates pick-up truck with salt spreader and snowplow attached;
Operates bobcat to load salt/sand onto salt spreader's;
Services and makes repairs and adjustments on equipment; and,
Performs manual labor as directed by the manager or his/her designee.
Typical Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school;
Experience in operation of snow removal equipment;
Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of operating trucks and related to ice/snow removal;
Thorough knowledge of the traffic laws and regulations governing equipment operation;
Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards involved and the safety precaution necessary to the proper operation of varied construction and maintenance equipment;
Skilled in the care and operation of several types of trucks and specialized;
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions;
Possess mechanical aptitude with the ability to make repairs and adjustments to equipment;
Physically able to perform manual tasks, general cleanup and operate power tools;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the general public;
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License and a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience after issuance of license; and,
Ability to work in unfavorable weather conditions, emergency situations and work flexible schedules including holidays/weekends and be dependable.

Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions:
Walking, talking, stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching, and gripping.
Incumbent may be required on occasion to move and lift up to 80 lbs.
(boxes, files, etc.
); position requires the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time; ability to work outdoors in all seasons.
Job days/hours:
On-call, as needed, 12-hour shifts (7am-7pm or 7pm-7am).
Must be readily available for emergency weather situations including holidays and weekends.
