Our Winchester, Virginia location is seeking a summer intern for our Surface Design Department.
The position would be for a college student and would be for approximately three months during the summer of 2024.
Are you ready to shape the future with us? Job Description In Continental Surface Solutions Automotive surface design team, each team member is responsible for not only concept creation, but also managing and understanding the process from concept to production/final product.
Surface designs includes, but not limited to, print and grain/texture design for Automotive interiors and exterior decorative films.
The design team is expected to not only design aesthetically pleasing appearances, but also work with technical teams (such research and development, production, engineering) to ensure a successful product.
The objective of this position is to learn, comprehend, and design according to process/product/market needs as well as customer needs and trends.
This project includes, but not limited to, customer visits, plant supervision, and design skills (create presentations, adobe suite, and adaptive designing), and production support.
Qualifications Project deliverables: Create and design concepts based off of trends or customer requests Successful understanding of product processes and steps Cooperation with technical teams, sales, and product management Other advanced design topics and market/trend research Learning objectives: LivTec and Automotive industry/market/customers in general Product development Process definition and comprehension Market data research and presentation Sample creation and coordination Process and production support and comprehension Research customer and market/region trends/product line Design creation of concepts from trends/mood boards Utilize data and trends to forecast for decking and pool liner business (LivTec focused) and Design creation that fit within these trends/forecasts Generation of hand samples of concepts with understanding of process capabilities (Livtec) Understand process capabilities and support production from role of Design Ability to work in a industrial manufacturing environment and able to wear personal protective equipment such as proper safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection.

Current enrollment in a graduate or undergraduate degree program in Design, Marketing, Communications, Product Development, or a related field of study at a accredited school.
Proficiency in Design Software, MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
This is a full-time paid summer internship opportunity working in our Design Department.
The hours would be dayshift Monday thru Friday and the position would be for approximately three months.
Applicant for position must be currently enrolled as a student in an accredited college or university.
