We are looking for a Systems Administrator to help us understand the functional requirements of the manufacturing organization and translate them into actionable deliverables for IT.
This role owns the implementation and management of the server infrastructure that supports our manufacturing operation.
The individual ensures server environments that support our production operation are running efficiently by monitoring performance and performing maintenance tasks (upgrading, patching, troubleshooting, etc.
).
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Systems Administration Design and build server systems to support the enterprise operation.
Design, build, maintain, diagnose, and troubleshoot all servers for the organization.
Recommend, plan, and implement best practices for the server environment for rapidly growing company.
Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations for the enterprise operations.
Perform and maintain file transfer technologies for organization.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or system related problems, and replace defective components when necessary.
Implement and provide technical support for voice services and equipment, including voice mail system, and telecom system.
Implement, own, and provide technical support for collaboration equipment across the organization.
Maintain server hardware and software; perform upgrades and monthly patching.
Manage inventory, licensing, of all server environments.
Own the Datacenters at all locations.
Includes UPS monitoring, environmental variables.
Vendor Management Work closely with outside vendors for quoting and ordering new products.
Work closely with outside vendors for managed services for cloud base environments in AWS and Azure.
Support / Incident Management Act as senior support to junior level staff members.
Track, monitor and document interaction on tickets for timely resolution in a high availability manufacturing environment.
Business Analysis Interact and work closely with enterprise IT teams and other enterprise entities inside organization.
Understanding functional requirements of the enterprise organization and translating them into actionable deliverables for IT.
Liaison with other IT disciplines (Network, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Applications) to ensure proper support of projects and systems in enterprise.
Track and trend processing and storage utilization.
Propose changes to proactively support changes in scope or activity level.
Provide SOX Audit Support, as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s): An ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge: Computers and Electronics— Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
English Language— Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Customer and Personal Service— Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Mathematics — Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
Telecommunications — Knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control, and operation of telecommunications systems.
Administrative — Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography, and transcription, designing forms, and workplace terminology.
Supervises: N/A Education/Experience Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or like program) and 5+ years of Windows Server Administration Experience.
Experience with creating and managing Group Policy, Powershell scripts, and other Advanced Windows Administration.
VMWare Administration experience.
Active Directory/DNS/DHCP experience.
Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing with users of differing technical knowledge to translate business requirements and information.
Experience with cloud-based Server Solutions (ex.
AWS or Azure).
Preferred: Exposure in a high availability manufacturing environment a plus (think quick, adapt, execute, ever changing environment).
Cisco HyperFlex (HX) exposure.
Meraki and Cisco network exposure.
APC UPS exposure.
