Purpose / Primary Function:
This position supports the entire site with a number of key responsibilities to ensure the team has the samples, supplies, equipment, procedures, and many other items to be successful in supporting our quality professionals on ensuring our production meets or exceeds our quality specifications.
In addition, this material will be responsible for quality processing on any 2nd pass quality holds and audits.
Key Duties and responsibilities:
Responsible for auditing and managing decking visual samples in building 1, 4, and 6.
Responsible for auditing and managing railing visual samples in building 3.
Responsible for auditing and managing signature visual samples in building 3.
Responsible for assisting in quality auditing process across all shifts and all processes.
Leads daily and weekly quality audits to include reporting results to the leadership team.
This also requires a flexible schedule to interface with the night shift production teams.
Conducts quality consistency auditing for quality personnel across the four crews.
Responsible to ensure all equipment, tools, and supplies are in working condition and available for quality team.
Performs Gauge R&R testing and ensures quality testing equipment is certified and calibrated per specifications.
Lead continuous improvement projects when needed.
Responsible for performing finished goods audits off decking and railing lines.
Completes retest of any material put on quality hold for dimensions.
Completes visual assessment of any material put on quality hold for visual quality defects.
Responsible to reprocess any dimensional bundles on hold for dimensions through secondary inline measurement system.
Complete incoming raw material inspection testing as required
Electronic data entry of audit results
Reporting of audit and testing results to quality leadership
Repack and audit any damaged bundles discovered on the site
Repack any shingled bundles discovered on the site
Assist with inline hot to cold studies as required to verify inline quality measurement systems
Fill in and assist on crew quality staffing to support real-time production if needed for emergency staffing situations
Complete minor mechanical and /or electrical repair supporting the quality department
Complete mechanical installs of small scale quality initiatives that do not contract
Complete additional tasks as directed by Quality Leads, Quality Supervisor, and/or Quality Manager
Qualifications include:
High school Diploma or Equivalent required; Associate’s Degree preferred
A minimum of 7 years of manufacturing and / or quality experience within a manufacturing plant
Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills
A hands-on, technically proficient orientation
Proven accuracy and excellent attention to detail
Ability to complete minor level of hands on work mechanical work, completing quality related maintenance repairs or projects
Strong organizational and communication skills
Demonstrated leadership abilities in a self-directed team manufacturing environment
