Any condition from sealed to loose.

They can be in played with condition, broken, missing pieces, good condition, or heck even brand new.
As a collector I look at condition alot but that doesn't mean that something broken may not have a part that can not be used.
Don't just throw them away, maybe there is something there that other collector's can use to complete their items.
