SJS is seeking a classroom teacher who might be assigned to teach students from kindergarten through fifth grade.
The teacher promotes academic and social behaviors in children in a developmentally appropriate manner and continues to reinforce these behaviors on a consistent basis.
The teacher also fosters independence through the gradual release of responsibilities by allowing students to develop the skills to perform tasks without assistance.

Pay: $34,000 to 44,000 per year
*Essential Responsibilities:*
* Establish a safe and supportive environment that is conducive to learning
* Design and implement authentic and engaging learning experiences using the WV College and Career Readiness standards
* Adhere to SJS assessment and grading policy and guidelines
* Collaborate with other teachers in order to share best practices and provide meaningful feedback regularly
* Ensure that students meet educational standards and school performance goals for their grade level
* Adopt a data-driven attitude toward measuring learner progress
* Tend to individual student needs
* Demonstrate an awareness of different student backgrounds and cultures
* Communicate regularly with parents
* Provide extra support to students who need it
* Monitor student growth to identify strengths and areas for improvement
*Qualifications*
* Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
* Hold or be eligible for a West Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in elementary education
* Demonstrated knowledge of elementary content, curriculum and methodology of effective teaching
* Ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with students, peers, administrators and parents
* Demonstrated skill in oral and written communications; excellent human-relations skills
* Proficiency with basic computer software such as Word and Excel
