*SUMMARY STATEMENT:*
The adjunct instructor, under the direction of the Medical Laboratory Technician Program Coordinator and the Health Sciences Division Director, instructs, evaluates, and supervises students enrolled in medical laboratory technician program.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:*
* The adjunct instructor_ _reports directly to and is responsible to the Program Coordinator of the Medical Laboratory Technician program and the Health Sciences Division Director.
* The position provides instruction, evaluation, and supervision of students enrolled in the Medical Laboratory Program.
* The adjunct instructor coordinates most closely with the Medical Laboratory Technician program coordinator and the health sciences division administrative assistant.
*
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:*
* Provides instruction and direction to students in accordance with program outcomes.
* Provides constructive feedback on student performance to ensure competence.
* Maintains appropriate records, including course assessments and competencies, student conference forms, attendance records, and Student Learning Outcomes Assessment (SLOA).
* When teaching in the lab, is responsible for gathering lab supplies, ensuring lab equipment is functioning properly, cleaning the lab, returning supplies to their designated areas, and reporting lab supplies needed for restocking the lab.
* Attend meetings as planned by the medical laboratory technician program coordinator and the Division of Health Sciences.
* Attend continuing education functions to stay current with educational and technological advancements.
* Perform other duties as assignment.
*EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:*
* Bachelor's degree or higher in Medical Technology, clinical Laboratory Science or related field.
MLS (ASCP), MT (ASCP) or CLS (NCA) or equivalent with a minimum of three years laboratory experience.
Documentation of continuing education within the last three years.
Successful teaching experience preferred.
*SKILLS AND ABILITIES:*
* Excellent organization and management skills.
* Ability to demonstrate adequate knowledge and proficiency in content areas.
* Ability to teach effectively in a community college setting.
* Ability to work with laboratory equipment and technology.
* Knowledge of the Internet, Microsoft Office Suite, and Learning Management Software.
* Ability to establish good working relationships with staff, students, and the community.
* Able to organize and prioritize work, make decisions independently, and attend to details.
