*SUMMARY STATEMENT:* This is a full-time tenure track faculty position teaching courses in the areas of Cybersecurity, also known as Information Assurance.
This is a faculty position that has broad curriculum responsibilities and also coordinates adjunct faculty who teach the programs’ foundational and specialty courses.
Base load is 15 credit hours of teaching per semester or equivalent in credit and non-credit instruction.
*FACULTY RESPONSIBILITIES:* * *Teaching: *A faculty member is expected to prepare for and teach 15 credits in the fall and spring terms.
Overload teaching is available with the approval of the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Student Services.
* *Assessment: *A faculty member is expected to assess learning outcomes at the course, program, general education and institutional levels.
* *Student Advisement: *A faculty member is expected to advise Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics students on courses, programs and career/transfer objectives, with support from Student Affairs.
* *Student Advocacy: *A faculty member should be committed to student learning and success and be available to help students as needed.
* *Curriculum Development: *A faculty member must be current in his or her field, transfer that knowledge to students through course content and delivery, and continue to update curriculum with changing technology.
* *Recruitment and Marketing: *A faculty member is a college ambassador with special obligations to promote his/her discipline or program to students and to the local community.
* *Shared Governance: *A faculty member participates in all levels of shared college governance, including- departmental, divisional and institutional-wide activities.
* *Professional Development: *A faculty member is expected to seek professional development opportunities to ensure he/she remains current in the discipline and each faculty member maintains an approved professional development plan that supports the college’s strategic goals.
* *College Service: *A faculty member is expected to serve the college in activities addressing departmental responsibilities, community outreach, and/or student and campus life activities.
* *Community Service: *A faculty member serves the college in voluntary community service activities that positively reflect that college’s image and is not in conflict with the college’s strategic goals or faculty responsibilities.

*ESSENTIAL DUTIES:* * Develop and deliver courses related to program requirement courses for an A.

* Develop, market, and conduct Cybersecurity workshops and program promotion in local schools and the community.
* Recruit and coach students to participate in Cybersecurity competitions.
* Recommend adjunct instructors for courses in areas of responsibility.
* Be able to develop and teach courses in many of the areas listed below: * Information Assurance * Risk Management * Security Architecture * Security Management * Network Administration * Network Security * Ethical Hacking * Penetration Testing * Digital Forensics * Access Control * Virtualization * Cloud Computing * Business Continuity * Disaster Recovery * Cryptography * Regulatory Compliance * Operations & Physical Security * Attend meetings and professional development activities offered by the National CyberWatch Consortium and serve as a point of contact between HCC and various public and private sector Cybersecurity organizations such as CyberWatch, InfoSec, Center for Academic Excellence (CAE) etc.
* Strengthen our already established CAE2Y (Center for Academic Excellence for Two Year Schools) designation through continuous curriculum and pathway development.

Cybersecurity courses with secondary education and bachelor degree level education.
* Participate in two CSC/IST/CYB Advisory Committee meetings each academic year.
Create relationships with local industry via Advisory Committee structure and maintain student-centered activities- articulation agreements, job recruitment, student advising, and student recruitment.
* Provide guidance for internship experiences.
* Continually maintain professional development in Information Assurance, particularly those offered by the CyberWatch Consortium.
* Continually strive to develop and enhance Information Assurance courses.
* Perform duties as assigned by the Director of Technology and Computer Studies.
* Plan and facilitate grant-related activities.
* Determine Student Learning Outcomes for courses taught and complete Student Learning Outcomes Assessments each semester to include Program assessment, Course Assessment, and Institutional Assessment.
* Arrange equipment, supplies, and materials necessary for instruction, prepare syllabi for all assigned courses, and select or assist in selecting textbooks, course packs, open educational resources, and all ancillary materials for assigned courses.
Communicate aforementioned content to adjunct instructors and serve as a mentor for facilitation.
* Faculty members also have professional responsibilities which include advising students; orientation and registration of students; participation in College committees and regularly scheduled academic functions such as division meetings, workshops, special colloquia and convocations, and graduation ceremonies; keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students); and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance.
*EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:* * Master’s degree in Cybersecurity or Information Assurance and prior teaching at the college or professional level preferred.
* Certified Information Systems Security Professional industry certification credential desired.
* Master’s degree in a related field such as Information Systems Technology or Computer Information Systems may be considered.
* Preference will be given to candidates who have recent teaching experience at the undergraduate/community college level in the discipline.
*Minimum requirements:* * Bachelor’s degree in Information Assurance or Information Security, and a Master’s degree in a related field.
* Background in one or more of the following areas: information security, information assurance, cyber security, digital forensics, secure application development.
* Preference will be given to candidates who have recent teaching experience at the undergraduate/community college level in the discipline.
*SKILLS AND ABILITIES:* * Candidates should possess excellent written, oral, and organizational skills with the ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and administrators.
* Applicant must possess the ability to develop and deliver curricula for hands-on instruction integrated across multiple platforms and have up-to-date technology skills including integrated learning through a learning management system such as D2L.
