Shenandoah University's Athletic Department is seeking applicants for Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach.
This is a fulltime, benefited 10-month position located on our main campus in Winchester, VA.
The Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach operates under the supervision of the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach in developing programs that enhance the strength, power, speed, agility, conditioning, and movement patterns for their designated teams of our 22 sports, along with educating the athletes on proper nutrition and recovery strategies for their sport and personal goals.
The assistant also will work collaboratively with the Athletic Training Staff to promote the health, safety, and performance of student athletes.
Potential for an additional stipend through teaching and instruction of students.
Required Skills
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
Has one of the following certifications:
Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCS)
Strength and Conditioning Collegiate Coach (SCCC)
CPR and AED certifications
Minimum 2-year prior experience in the collegiate environment
Physical demands:
Must be able to lift over 100lbs.
Ability to demonstrate all exercises efficiently including but not limited to: Olympic lifts, squatting, lunging, pushing, and pulling movements.
