The Department of Leadership Studies at Shenandoah University seeks applicants for an adjunct faculty position to teach in the EdD and PhD programs in Educational Leadership programs.
The fall 2024 course is Organizational Theory and Behavior.
The course and program are designed for adult working professionals in PK-12 and higher education institutions.
This will be a hybrid course with weekly synchronous class sessions on selected weekday evenings and in person meetings on three Saturdays at either our Winchester or Ashburn campus.
Required Skills
Qualifications:
Education: (e.
g.
, EdD, PhD, DProf or similar terminal degree) in organizational or educational leadership, administration, policy, or related fields
Expertise in and knowledge of prominent and contemporary theory and research in the organizational leadership fields as applicable to PK-12 and higher education
organizations
Ability to assist adult learners to apply organizational theory and research to their professional practice and work context
Ability and/or commitment to facilitate interactive learning in online and in person environments
Teaching and communication skills appropriate for adult learners
Willingness to prepare and teach the course consistent with the EdD/PhD program priorities, practices, and course objectives
Willingness to communicate and collaborate with the EdD/PhD faculty in the preparation and teaching of the course.
Commitment to an inclusive teaching and learning environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional experience working in PK-12 or higher education institutions
Prior higher education teaching experience at the graduate level
