*Job Description: Assistant Dean for Student Experience/Dorm Parent *
*Classification: Full Time, Salaried, Exempt (12 month) *
*Reports to: Dean of Student Life*
Job Summary *:*
The Assistant Dean for Student Experience reports to the Dean of Student Life to support all aspects of the student experience.
A key position in the Office of Student Life, the Assistant Dean works directly with faculty, staff, and students to support the Student Life program.
Key Responsibilities: The Assistant Dean for Student Experience works closely with the Office of Student Life to develop and implement engaging, inclusive co-curricular and experiential learning opportunities both on and off campus.
This position is also a visible presence on campus and in the community.
Responsibilities include planning and coordinating Student Life events and programming including the following: ● Work with Dean of Students and grade-level advisors to ensure successful delivery of grade-level curriculum ● Plan class service trips and class bonding experiences with support from grade-level sponsors ● Oversee the service learning program by engaging with the regional community to increase service opportunities, tracking student service hours, and arranging transportation ● Working with the Assistant Head of School, manage the Exceptional Proficiency program by communicating with families, ensuring compliance, and working with the Academic Office to coordinate outside tutoring support for students as needed/required ● Oversee student-run clubs by tracking meetings and club activities ● Working with the Student Life Team, coordinate and help plan special events including banquets, mixers, and special event weekends ● Serve on the Wintermission Planning Committee and help facilitate Wintermission programming ● Assist the Dean of Students with Advisory programming and also serve as an advisor to a small group of students ● Assist with the coordination of student orientation and graduation/end-of-year events ● Assist the Dean of Students with the Old Girl/New Girl student mentoring program ● Liaise with Admissions for successful Open Houses ● Assist the Dean of Students in addressing infractions, preferably with a restorative justice lens ● Develop and help maintain a social media presence for Student Life ● This position may include serving as a lead dorm parent/dorm parent depending on housing assignments.

Qualifications: ● A bachelor’s degree is required.
● Experience working at a boarding school is preferred.
● Diversity and Inclusion training and experience working within a global community is preferred.
● Proven record of service learning, community engagement, and voluntarism ● Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with an attention to detail, and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects and work under deadlines.
● Strong interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution, and an ability to build relationships with multiple constituencies and work well with parents and students.
● Professionalism ● High degree of discretion and confidentiality must be held.
● Experience with Orah (formerly Boardingware) preferred.
● Ability to work independently and make decisions in accordance with established policies and regulations.
● Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
Other Qualifications: All prospective employees must be able to clear a fingerprint and background check and TB screening.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet; however, variations in noise level may occur when the employee attends school functions such as assemblies, school dances, and other events.
