*Job Description: STEM Teacher - Emphasis on Mathematics*
*Classification: Full Time, Salaried, Exempt *
*Reports to: Assistant Head of School and Director of STEM Education *
Job Summary:
The STEM teacher will contribute to the overall STEM program at Foxcroft and be prepared to teach various levels of high school mathematics, including AP-level courses.
Energy, enthusiasm, and strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must.
In addition, demonstrating an understanding of the developmental needs of adolescent girls as well as being versed in instructional strategies for teaching STEM to girls and underrepresented student populations in STEM fields are required.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach 4 - 5 sections of subject(s).
Bring an innovative and student-centered approach to the classroom.
Integrate technology in the classroom.
Mentor students in the STEM Concentration program in the teacher’s area of expertise, as well as advise relevant STEM clubs or extra-curriculars.
Work with the STEM faculty to plan and execute the yearly STEM competition for middle and high school students as well as participate on other STEM projects.
Engage in continued professional development on and off campus.
Participate and commit to the residential student experience, including advising, weekend duty/dorm duty, and extracurricular activities.
The ability to coach sports is an added bonus.

Qualifications:
● Required: Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
A Master’s in Mathematics, Education, or related field and/or related experience is preferred.
● Classroom teaching experience in math.
● Experience with STEM education and with technology integration in the classroom, including but not limited to using TI-84 calculator, Geometer's sketchpad, and Excel.
● Demonstrated engagement in student life outside the classroom and desire to support the diverse histories, experiences and identities of each member of our community.

Work hours may vary and include days, nights, and weekends.
Employees may be required to drive a vehicle for student needs and/or on School business.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet; however, variations in noise level may occur when the employee attends school functions such as assemblies, school dances, and other events.
