This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
The Head Swim Team Coach/Aquatics Coordinator at Hagerstown YMCA intentionally fosters a cause-centered culture that is welcoming, genuine, hopeful, nurturing, and determined while also managing high-quality, member-focused aquatics programs.

*GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS*:
* Must be at least 21 years of age.
* Two years previous experience in coaching- preferred.
* Extensive knowledge of Pickleball.
* Certified by the Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR)- preferred but not required.
* Effective team player with high energy and strong customer service skills.
* The candidate should have effective communication skills, both oral and written.
* The candidate must have proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
* Accurate, efficient, detail oriented.
* The candidate must have the ability to balance workload under short deadlines and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Self starter and able to work independently to complete tasks and responsibilities.
* Must possess strong leadership skills.
* Must have strong, demonstrated skills in budgeting, personnel management and problem solving.
* Lifeguard, CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required.

*RESPONSIBILITIES*:
* Evaluate the effectiveness of our Pickleball program.
Introduce new programs, constantly monitor and make changes to current clinics and services.
* Smoothly relay program information to all department staff, other employees and members through our seasonal program guides, advertising and community outreach.
* New programs are expected to be created and developed.
Schedule, coordinate and promote Pickleball tournaments.
The Pickleball Instructor is responsible for the development and implementation of various Pickleball Programs for both junior players and adults.
* Programs are to be designed and implemented that are age and ability specific and that target a wide range of playing abilities.
The overriding goal is to provide an adequate number of programs to both satisfy members and players needs while maximizing the use of all available tennis courts.
* Provide exceptional Pickleball instruction for all groups and levels of players.
* Must meet deadlines when directed by upper management.
Supervise, hire, train, motivate and evaluate all participants.
* Maintain appropriate ranking of players as necessary.
* Responsible for launching and marketing of all new and existing Pickleball programs.
* Educate new and existing members on the Pickleball program.
