Color Guard Instructor

Position: Color Guard Instructor 7/1/24-12/31/24 only Location: Martinsburg High School Martinsburg High School is seeking applications for a part time, temporary position from July 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024 for a Color Guard Instructor for the Martinsburg High School Band.
The Color Guard Instructor coordinates the preparations, exercises, and activities of the marching band's auxiliary unit, the Color Guard.
The instructor prepares and directs the unit for performances integrated within the larger marching band ensemble.
Accountable To: Martinsburg High School Director of Bands and building principal.
Compensation: $1500 Stipend Functions and Duties: Maintain a cooperative working relationship with the Director of Bands, Assistant Band Directors, high school administration, band booster organization, students, and parents.
Manage all equipment necessary for rehearsals and performances, including maintenance, repair, etc.
Participate in planning with the Band Staff as Recommend new property purchases with the budget Design Color Guard programs, choreography and routines that effectively complement & enhance the visual and musical program.
Instruct students in a fundamental and advanced flag, rifle, and additional weapon techniques (field show, parade routine, etc.

Must complete all required BCS Staff and Professional Development Trainings as assigned.

Qualifications: Minimum of High School Diploma/ GED required.
Background in marching band and auxiliary performance Experience in various subgroups of the Color Guard unit (i.
e.
flags, rifles, sabres, dance, outside Color Guard organizations, etc.
) Experience in composing and choreographing Employment background check required.
